Grand Forks Flooding: Updates Forthcoming

March 26, 2009

It’s 4AM and I’ve just returned home from spending two hours getting down and dirty at Sandbag Central in Grand Forks. For those of you that are interested in keeping tabs on the flood here in Grand Forks, keep an eye on this blog, my Flickr site, and my Twitter feed. I’ll be uploading photos and text updates to both from Grand Forks in the next few days.

Hi- can you tell me what the situation is up there? I’m in Fargo and am expecting to have a baby any day- the hospitals are evacuating and they have recommended we to to another city- Are you guys in better shape than we are?

Thanks so much- Take care- Erin.

Hi Erin! As far as I can tell and guess, the crest here is forecast to be well below the height of the dikes built in 1997. I haven’t heard much about hospital space though. You might want to call ahead and ask.
